How To Plan A 25th Wedding Anniversary |
Introduction
A 25th anniversary tends to be a momentous occasion for any couple. This silver anniversary is usually celebrated with a party honoring the couple and their commitment to one another. Here are some steps on how to plan a 25th wedding anniversary for you or your loved ones.

Step One
Decide what size of party to throw. Be sure to consult the couple because some may prefer family gatherings, more intimate gatherings or a bigger cocktail type party. Use your knowledge of the couple to make this decision.
Step Two
Create a guest list. Knowing the size of the party will help you decide who to invite. Smaller parties may be limited to close friends and family, but for bigger parties be sure to invite family, friends, the wedding party and even co-workers.
Step Three
Determine how formal your affair will be. Casual events, such as barbecues and picnics are more affordable, but some hosts may opt for a black tie affair. Again, this decision is based heavily on the budget and the couple's preferences.
Step Four
Decide on decorations. The dominant color in most 25th anniversary parties is silver. You can buy anything in silver year round, but you could also try to incorporate the colors from the wedding as well.
Step Five
Provide the party essentials. These include a variety of beverages, finger foods (unless you’re planning on serving dinner) and cake. Some hosts decide to have a caterer for the more fancy parties, have it at a restaurant or just purchase the food themselves.
Step Six
Create a display dedicated to the couple. This can include pictures of the couple prior to and on their wedding day or any other memorabilia that remind guests of the couple.
Overall Tips & Warnings
The size of the party you have relies heavily on your budget, so take that into consideration when choosing who to invite.
There are no limits on what kind of decorations you decide upon. Just be sure they are tasteful and fit within your budget.
Be sure to include champagne so everyone can participate in toasting the couple.
Party decoration outlets may not be the best bet for decorations. Discount stores could be your best bet for cheaper food and decorations.
If you are having guests RSVP, be sure to send out invitations sooner than you normally would, so you can plan accordingly.
Be sure to consult the couple about the guest list. They may or may not want someone attending their anniversary. |
