In modern times , many do keep a driver on monthly / yearly basis.Some do have for years. How is your driver now also affects your daily routine. If he is regular / punctual , you shall also be same. Some drivers take too many leave etc and thus disturb your schedules /programs also !

More interesting are drivers of Taxi-agencies. As you suddenly encounter them for a day's visit , have to bear with their eccentrics unnecessarily . These irritations may include

1) Playing of music of their choice . Volume level is also irritating -if you ask them to behave , they start speeding too fast or too low or create other traffic hazards on the road. Many drivers do enjoy your family discussion and give their " advice " in between --if some members ignore it , they think it as a licence to give further advice during whole journey.

2)Disappear when you are inside the shop or in important meeting. Many
don't have mobile numbers or don't pick up seeing your number. If you fume too much , they will make such " excellent " excuse that you will surely melt.

3)Whatever tea/ snacks / lunch / dinner guests offer you or you order on Dhaba / restaurant , they think it's their right to have it too. And they are to be requested " most respectfully " to have the same --otherwise feel " insulted " and do behave differently after that . Pet is " Saheb , HUM TO GARIB AADMI
HAIN ............ ."

4)If you are on Highway , they have their " pet " Petrol pumps to take
diesel / patrol . If you don't want from those , they shall try to convince you . Even if you are not interested , they shall take tea/lunch on Dhabas of their choice for Owners serve them FREE as part of commission to bring " murgas " like you . So many a times you wonder who is picnicking --you after spending so much or driver at your cost ?

5)At the end of the day , while you settle the Bill , they say " Saheb, this money is of the Tour Agency --where is my Bakshish ..? "

 

6) Many Drivers also tamper the Mileage metres and get filled up less diesel / patrol but take a memo of higher amount and you are quoted as witness ! Many do smoke while driving or talk over Mobile .You , being a gentleman ( or woman ) , how many times can ask him to stop / not talk over Mobile ??? And then he has the steering in his hand --you don't want to irritate him too much also !

7) If they are not driving Cab Agency's car but your own car , shall drive it
too mercilessly making your BP too high. They apply breaks so often and shall point out all faults in yoiur car suggeting that hiring Cab Agency's taxi is better because that way they make more profit.

So you end up the day after spending so much on Taxi but being just a tool in the hands of Driver. If you complain to his owner , pet reply is " Next time shall send a better one " which you know never happens. Many a times your driver is just a guy from village and has no idea of city roads , city etiquettes or sharp driving skills so owner is getting him trained thru you !!!!!!!!!! Cab-owners experiments cost nothing to him but you have to bear a lot.
